Screen Director's Playhouse

The Screen Directors' Playhouse was a drama series broadcast from 1949 to 1951. The series remade famous, highly regarded film stories in Hollywood. Although similar to Screen Guild Theater, the series added an element in which film directors provided the introduction to each adaptation and the cast. Many top Hollywood stars frequently participated in the production.

The Screen Directors' Playhouse debuted with the endorsements from Hollywood stars John Wayne, Claire Trevor, and Ward Bond.
